Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Priyanka Gandhi, addressed a public meeting in Maharajganj district, marking his first appearance after filing his nomination for Rae Bareli. Emphasizing his connection to the region, Rahul declared Rae Bareli as his new "karmabhoomi," citing its significance as the workplace of his two mothers, Sonia Gandhi and Indira Gandhi.
"Our family shares a century-old relationship with Rae Bareli," Rahul affirmed, stating the historical ties that bind the Gandhis to the constituency. He framed the upcoming election as a battle to defend the Constitution against the alleged threats posed by the BJP and RSS, accusing them of favoring big corporations over the interests of the poor.
Directing criticism at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul asserted, "In ten years, Narendra Modi has enriched 22 billionaires with 16 lakh crore rupees, equivalent to the income of 70 crore people." He promised substantial financial support to women and guaranteed apprenticeships for youth under an India Alliance government. he said, "If the government is formed, they will send 8500 rupees to every woman's account every month."
Rahul Gandhi pledged to overhaul the employment system, vowing to abolish the contractor system in both public sectors and government departments once the new government assumes power.
